Children's Ministry Assistant Director

Life Before Century Baptist…

Danelle grew up on a farm northwest of Turtle Lake, ND. Throughout high school, Danelle was involved in basketball, choir, and art class. She graduated 3rd in her class from Turtle Lake-Mercer High School in May 2008. In December 2011, she graduated Magna Cum Lade from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications/Photo Journalism. One day after graduation, she and her husband (Luke) packed up and moved to Bismarck as he was offered a full time job. Danelle, having no luck finding a full time job related to her degree, started working at the YMCA as a teaching assistant and was a volunteer youth group leader on Wednesday nights for Century Baptist’s Student Ministries. Throughout her time at the YMCA, God began to intensify the call on Danelle’s heart to work with children.

Passion & Role at Century Baptist…

Danelle, as the Children’s Ministry Assistant Director, loves kids and the unique perspectives they bring to the table. Her desire is for children to know they are loved and that they are an important part in God’s story. Her heart beats passionately for connecting and building relationships. She has a soft spot for preteens and loves to be goofy with them!

Life Verses…

Colossians 3:17, Philippians 4:6-8

Family Life…

Danelle has been married to Luke since August 2011. Danelle was 12 years old when she first met her husband who at the time was only 14 years old. She traveled with Luke’s youth group (Century Baptist) to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a Junior High retreat. Danelle was brave enough to ask Luke for his e-mail address at a gas station somewhere along I-29 (which he wrote on a napkin for her) and that was the start of a beautiful friendship. Danelle loves her family and loves being “Auntie Danelle” to her growing number of nieces and nephews!

Things you might not know…

Danelle is a tomboy at heart. She loves to hike, bike, and camp. Growing up on a farm gave Danelle many unique learning experiences including how to drive a tractor, how to ride (& crash) dirt bikes, and how to drive the family van down to the shop at 6 years old (because no one else would do it). Danelle has a love for photography and previously operated a small photography business that started in May 2008. She photographed her first wedding the day before her high school graduation.
