Care Ministry

The Care Ministry of Century Baptist Church is firmly based upon the biblical teaching of Jesus in Matthew 22:37-39 “And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” Paul tells us in Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Our ministry purpose is to effectively meet the needs of those who are connected to Century Baptist Church so that each person experiences the tangible love of God and is enabled to become a spiritually healthy disciple of Jesus Christ. A secondary purpose is to equip and empower growing disciples at CBC to care for one another out of a heart of love.

Hospital Ministry

Hospital ministry is a vital part of what we do for people who need care. A pastoral presence is important for those admitted to the hospital to assure them that someone is paying attention to their concern and is willing to visit and pray. Please feel free to inform the church office at 223-0478 concerning upcoming surgeries so that the pastoral staff can be aware and provide appropriate ministry.

Shepherding

Shepherding includes those aspects of care that fall into the specific categories of elder care, pastoral counseling, grief care, or staying in touch with our congregation.

Support groups have been formed to meet the needs of those experiencing the grief at the loss of a loved one or who may have gone through a divorce. A network of churches in the Bismarck/Mandan area work together to provide support through GriefShare and DivorceCare. Contact the church office for more information.

A Care Team regularly spends time visiting those of our congregation who find it difficult to make it to church for worship. So many are lonely and just want someone to talk to. If you are interested in participating in this visitation ministry contact the church office at grow@centurybaptist.org or 223-0478.

Hospitality

This ministry is one of practical care for those in our congregation going through difficult times such as returning from a stay in the hospital or saying good-bye to a loved one at a funeral. It is also a ministry to see that guest speakers, missionaries, and traveling groups are provided with housing/meals while they are ministering at Century Baptist Church.
