Bald, passionate, analytical, witty, hard-working, conscientious, considerate, and a man who loves God above all else. What his family would add about him… his three young children would say, “Daddy is funny. Especially when he makes up songs and dances.” His wife would say, “Thank goodness he only dances in the privacy of our home. It isn’t pretty.”
What does he do, anyway? Makes sure the coffee pot is full each morning - VERY important! Oh yeah, and he oversees Community Life Groups, Grounded, Starting Point, Financial Peace University, First Impressions Ministry and adult classes. Also, coaching, lots of coaching of leaders as well as his son's flag football and basketball team.
What he's passionate about… small groups! Paul has a heart for people growing deeper in their faith and training them to serve God with their giftedness. And he believes the best environment and biblical example is groups where community is developed and life is lived together.
His life verses and favorite books… Colossians 3:17; Romans 12:1-2; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 2:8-10; 4:11-12
Quickest way to his schedule… “Hey Pastor Paul, I’ve got Yankees tickets (or Raiders tickets).”
Family Life… Paul and his wife Maxine met at Crystal Springs Baptist Camp 19 years ago, married 18 years ago, and today can’t imagine living a single day without the other. However, their three children, Rachel (9), Caleb (7), and Noah (3) do keep them imagining what it would be like to live without all the noise.
Life before Century Baptist Church… Before Paul came to Century he served as Associate Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Chino Valley, AZ. Don’t worry, he is a North Dakota native so he wasn’t disillusioned when he returned in the middle of winter. In fact, he’ll tell you it is good to be home; but I'm still not a fan of snow, except on December 24 and 25.
Where you're likely to find him when not at the church… at the YMCA, at the grocery store (he’s addicted to a good deal), or in the back yard playing football… or soccer…or dog...or just ‘chase-me-Daddy’ with his children.
Things you might not know… Paul would like to write a book someday, knew he would marry Maxine the first day he saw her, sang in a quartet with 2 of his brothers and his cousin, aspires to host SportsCenter, dreams of being the chaplain for the N.Y. Yankees and Oakland Raiders, and he was awarded “Best Legs” in college and has the trophy to prove it.
