Pastor of Care and Global Ministries Alan Steier Email Me

Top things people say to describe him…Committed to Christ, steady, patient, caring, easy to get along with, studious, good listener.

What his family would add about him...
Andrew, his son, says, "My father is caring.  Not only to his son, but to his wife.  Alan is a great role model and a wonderful man of God.  His sense of humor might be a little dry, but he always brings a smile."

What does he do, anyway?
He serves in the areas of care, visitation, leadership development, global ministries, and senior adults.

What he's passionate about...
Sharing the Word of God.  God's glory.  Seeing missionaries are well cared for so that they can be as effective as possible in proclaiming the gospel.  Books.

His life verses and favorite books …Joshua 1: 8-9; Colossians 1: 28-29; Matthew 28: 18-20.  Missions-related books are some of his favorite along with books on spiritual formation, especially those of Dallas Willard.

Quickest way to his schedule …"Let's have coffee at Boneshakers"

Family Life …Alan and his wife, Judy, have been married for over thirty years and have three adult children:  two married daughters (Jenn & Tim; Alicia & Christopher) and a son (Andrew).  It has been a joy to be at a stage in life where we as parents can relate to our children on an adult level.

Life before Century Baptist Church…Alan served in Japan as a single missionary (1978-1980) and with his family (1984-1989).  He also served as pastor in Linton, ND (1990-1998) and Steamboat Rock, IA (1998-2002).

Where you're likely to find him when not at the church …At home with his wife.  While at home he does fix-it things around the house or yard.  He also spends a significant amount of time reading about how to better care for missionaries.

Things you might not know …Alan is a cancer survivor (lymphoma in 1991 and cancer-free for 19 years).  He also loves to shop the Bismarck Public Library used book sale twice a year.
